Sporting Clay Shoots
Sporting Clay Shoots are one of the fastest-growing event segments in the country and have eclipsed golf tournaments as the charity event of choice in many states. Often referred to as “golf with a shotgun,” sporting clay events began in the U.S. in 1980. The concept is a merging of traditional skeet shooting sports with golf tournaments.
Sporting Clay events are similar to golf tournaments, except instead of hitting golf balls, participants shoot flying clay targets with shotguns. Like golfers, sporting clay shooters play in foursomes, ride in golf carts, keep score on scorecards and play a course of multiple stations similar to golf holes. The event is very safe, and unlike golf, almost any adult or young person can participate.
